About us

Radverkehr-Konzept was founded in February 2014 and emerged from the planning office VAR Frankfurt.

Founder and executive director is Paul Fremer. Currently, he can rely on a team of four employees and additionally benefit from the expertise knowledge of the partner offices von Mörner, IT-GIS and MFL Architektur.

Paul Fremer, M.Eng.

Member of the expert commission for bicycle traffic as part of the working group for local transport in Hessen (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Nahmobilität Hessen AGNH)

Member of the Association of Town, Regional and State Planning (SRL)

Paul Fremer successfully finished his studies of civil engineering with focus on traffic in Darmstadt as Master of Engineering in 2010. Already during his studies he worked on a self-employed basis for ivm GmbH (corporation for integrated transport and mobility management FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH – see references). After his graduation Paul Fremer was engaged for the GIZ in Monrovia, Liberia and worked on the development of an overall transport plan for the country. From November 2011 on he gained first experiences as bicycle traffic planner as a freelancer for the office VAR in Darmstadt, especially in the field of conceptual planning and sign-posting for bicyle traffic. With the bicycle traffic concept of Ravensburg he took over full responsibility as project manager for the first time.

In January 2013 Paul Fremer foundet the planing office VAR Frankfurt, which operates under the name of Radverkehr-Konzept since April 2014.

After his engagement in Liberia, Paul Fremer is still active for GIZ as  consultant in the project Sustainable Urban Transport Project (SUTP). One outcome of this collaboration is the publication “Changing Course in Urban Transport”, an illustrated guide about the chances and challenges of traffic planning in developing and newly industrialized countries.

Dipl.-Geogr. Lisa Wagner

Lisa Wagner studied geography and urban design in Bonn. After her gaduation she worked amongst others in the field of international cooperation. In October 2015 she joined Radverkehr-Konzept as project manager for conceptional planing and the project Bike + Business.

Tobias Schneider, B.A.

Tobias Schneider started as intern in the summer of 2013 for the former planning office VAR Frankfurt. After finishing his bachelor’s degree in geography in December 2013 he works for RV-K espacially in the field of the analysis and presentation of spatial and geographical data.

Harald Henkel, Dipl.-Ing. (FH)

Harald Henkel and Paul Fremer collaborate for divers projects since the beginning of Paul Fremer’s independent activities. Key subjects of Harald Henkel are the observation, auditing and quality assurance of traffic infrastructure, especially the quality assurance of sign-posting for bicycle traffic.

Internship

Radverkehr-Konzept frequently engages trainees. Students of different subjects can collect experiences in the field of bicycle traffic planning and support the team with creative ideas.
